How to write a good essay in examination
Essay writing is an important part of all examinations since childhood. We as students have started writing essays since our childhood. but in most of the students I have observed that there is a dilemma regarding"how to write a good essay".
Among the students, often exists a confusion about-
From where to start? ; What to write?; How to reach the word limit? Or how to sum up?
So dear students here comes a solution to all your confusion.
Writing an essay will be very simple if you understand the technique of writing it.
An essay comprises of basically three parts: Introduction, Body and Conclusion
Introduction: in this part you are supposed to describe the topic of your essay.
While writing introduction part one should keep in mind the five W's,
i.e. what, when, where, why and who. The topic of the essay should be
analyzed and described in purview of these. To be more elaborative let me
give you the example of most common topic "your favourite festival".
So, in introduction part you have to explain that what is your favourite
festival? When and why is it celebrated? Where it is celebrated the most?
And who celebrate it? By describing this you will get your introduction for
about 70-80 words. And dear students’ don’t forget to be a bit ornamental in
the language you are using to write the introduction part.
Body: in this part you have to describe and elaborate the topic of your essay.
While writing the body
of your essay you have to use everything you have studied about the topic and
also your ideas related to the topic. You can divide your ideas in to two
categories i.e. pros and cons. Related to the topic discussed above ( your
favourite festival) in this part you can elaborate that how this festival is
celebrated in different parts of the country and what arrangements are made at
home and how the puja is performed , etc... This part will cover about 100-150
words of your essay.
Conclusion: in this part you have to wind up your thoughts and discussions.
This part concludes all
your ideas you have discussed in your essay. Now be careful please do not
include any new idea in this part. Here you only have to sum up everything you
have discussed above in your essay. You should end your conclusion with your
thought or idea about the topic. This concluding part will take about 70-80
words.
So children here is the
basic format you should follow in your exams while writing an essay of about
200-250 words.
